Mercedes has expanded its AMG portfolio in India with the launch of the Mercedes- AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé, which is also the company’s successful inheritor of its previous AMG GLE 43. The launch of this swanky high performance SUV Coupé has definitely made the Indian portfolio of Mercedes stronger along with laying a concrete foundation for the future SUVs to come from the AMG range. This is the first time that a vehicle from the renowned AMG 53 series has been launched by India’s largest luxury car manufacturer in the country.
The exclusive launch of the GLE 53 has piqued the interest of Indian consumers who are always on their toes about a new launch from Mercedes-Benz. Keeping true to its sporty reputation, the SUV comes with a six cylinder in-line engine which has a twin scroll turbocharging. In addition to its impressive engine, its Formula 1 inspired 48 V EQ Boost reaches 435 HP plus a temporary 22 HP and 250 Nm of electric output, enabling it to make 0 – 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds.
Equipped with the Dynamic Select, it offers seven drive programmes- slippery, comfort, sport, sport+, individual, trail and sand; and the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G Transmission along with Mercedes Me Connect have been installed to provide the most top notch driving experience possible. The launch took place following the norms through a physidigital affair at Mercedes Benz India’s exclusive AMG Performance Centre in Mumbai. The launch introduced the SUV specifications with every single detail and it was announced to be priced at INR 1.2 Crore.
