The epitome of vehicular luxury, the Phantom has been turned into a pickup and drop vehicle for a special package of a resort in Kerala.
To be chauffeured around in the back seat of a Rolls-Royce is a privilege not everyone can achieve, but there is a chance you could get driven around in a golden Rolls-Royce Phantom for just INR 25,000. Boby Tours and Travels, a part of the Boby Chemmanur group is offering a package of the taxi ride for a distance of 300 kilometers and 2 might stay at Boby Oxygen resorts in Kerala, the Rolls is a part of the pickup and drop facility offered by the resort.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom is a previous generation, the VII and is a LWB-Long Wheel Base model and was acquired by Dr. Boby Chemmanur-the proprietor of the resort and the travel company at an auction, the car did not come in the shining Gold paint but is a customisation done by Dr. Chemmanur.
The Phantom VII LWB is powered by a 6.8 litre V12 engine that produces 454 horsepower and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car has the outward opening ‘Suicide doors’ which have made it a collectible of sorts, other features include leather upholstery, powerful audio systems, refrigerator and other top-of-the line luxuries. Being the LWB model, the Phantom has a massive 53.1 inches of legroom which has often been regarded as a production vehicle record.
The car comes adorned with the Spirit of Ecstasy on the top of the grille and this one even has ‘Taxi’ markings on it. The Rolls is often regarded as the pinnacle of luxury, and rightly so because the ride comfort that this car is capable of cannot be matched by any other vehicle save a few select cars. But none of them reserve the aristocracy and the command on the road that a Rolls-Royce, especially this shiny Golden one does.
If you consider the added benefit of the 2 day resort stay in the scenic state of Kerala, the INR 25,000 fee for the Rolls-Royce trip is not bad, especially because the car was originally purchased at INR 9 Crores.
Dr. Boby Chemmanur is a business magnate based in Kerala, with his main footing in jewelry and multiple hotels and resorts, he is also a philanthropist and runs many campaigns for blood donation.
