Bangalore 26th June 2020 – TKM would like to confirm the emergence of a fifth positive case of COVID-19. TKM had earlier reported four positive cases of its employees. However, the fifth case has no connection with the first four cases reported earlier by TKM and hence no contact transmission within the company has been confirmed.
In this latest instance, the said employee had last attended work on 22nd June. In line with the Government guidelines TKM has quarantined those employees who are suspected to have had primary or secondary contact with the infected employee through appropriate contact tracing. We will also extend all possible support to the infected employee during the period of treatment. Furthermore, we would like to inform all our stakeholders that we follow the process of disinfecting the workplace on a daily basis and especially in this case special deep cleaning and disinfection of the affected work area was carried out immediately on receiving the report. Post confirming the safety of the workplace and adhering to all the mandatory protocols, TKM will continue its operations at its plant in Bidadi since all the SOPs on preventive measures to contain spread of COVID-19 infection are complied with.
TKM continues to be in touch with the affected team member and his family so as to support them in handling this situation carefully without further complications. Considering the safety and security of its employees and all of its stakeholders as its first and foremost priority in mind, TKM will continue to take all possible preventive and remedial measures to deal with the developing situation and closely work with various stakeholders including the relevant statutory authorities.
