Usually, we would save the most impressive show star, but the Citroën C5 Aircross is so outrageous that we believed it had to be covered readily. However, it is no surprise to hear that the French carmaker always has something excessive to surprise us, and this time it is with the big debut of Citroën C5 Aircross in India. It will surely give some much needed competition to the home automotive established rivals in India. What’s say!
Following on, Citroën C5 Aircross is admittedly less gaudy, but still striking, was all set to mark its Indian debut around mid-2020, but due to the COVID-19, it will now be unveiled on February 1, 2021. Apart from being the latest make, the new Citroën C5 Aircross also looks set to be quite a level forward from its predecessor. It offers a spacious choice of power, though; you can have the Aircross as a plug-in hybrid as well as the normal petrol and diesel benefits. The C5 has pedigree DNA, too; under its skin, you will find a crossover-like silhouette.
The Large SUV class is a comprehensive church, hosting everything from the highlights such as a split grille on the front, dual-beam headlamps, and upright tailgate with split LED tail lamps as well. Available only as a five-seater, the premium design is further complemented by red beats all over.
If you plan to tow a heavy trailer or boat around, though, the 2.0-liter diesel engine might be a reliable bet. Our pick of the engine range for this one is to be powered only by a diesel, uses its power to a good result, delivering 177PS/400Nm. If you expect a C5 Aircross that can seize away from the traffic lights promptly, try this one!
Citroën makes some strong claims about convenience. And in many respects, those claims are in heaps. This is one pillowy smooth SUV, so, if you are the type of person who relishes laying back in a comfortable bed, you will love the C5 Aircross’s willowy form as it has a notable cabin with split AC vents. It is so easy, there is a bit of side-to-side sway over sways; along with other highlights such as an 8-inch infotainment system Android Auto and with Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging, panoramic sunroof, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, ABS with EBD.
The C5 Aircross makes a peaceful long-distance cruiser, having the front seats massage and heating function. The big, load area is flat and it is very easy to fill massive items in through the large boot aperture. Adding to it, all versions of C5 Aircross get an alarm and in terms of safety, are on the money with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear and front parking sensors.
The C5 Aircross is affordable by large SUV standards, undercutting even sharply priced rivals such as the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq. It will likely be launched in the country by March’2021 of this year with prices expected to lie between 31.5 – 32 Lakh INR.
