The group consists of all German cars from Porsche, BMW and Mercedes-AMG.
Delhi is home to a lot of supercar fanatics, and they like to get together and drive their powerful machines on the nation’s highways. One such event was held wherein 6 cars took a road trip to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Among the ranks were a Porsche Boxster, BMW M4, Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 , BMW Z4, Mercedes-AMG C43, Mercedes-Benz SLK, and for any fanboy, these cars were a golden sight on the roads. Let’s talk about these mean machines a bit in detail.
The Porsche Boxster is powered by a 2 litre flat-4 engine that makes 295 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. The Boxter is the open top or soft top version of the 718 and comes with clever use of power and aerodynamics. The car can accelerate to a hundred in 4.7 seconds, the engine is mated to the PDK gearbox that can be picked up as an option. As seen here, the Boxster is in a bright yellow shade and while the open top experience is amazon, the cold really does not permit that right now. Priced at INR 1.2 Crores.
The BMW M4 which is now a discontinued model is powered by a 3 litre I6 engine which is turbocharged, making 444 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. Acceleration is 4 seconds to a hundred kilometers. The car has extensive use of carbon fibre to keep the weight down and the body sturdy, it even has carbon ceramic brakes. This generation of the M4 was sold till 2020, and remained a true M product. The Z4 which is also present is powered by a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine that makes 194 hp and 320Nm of torque, the small sports car benefits from light weight and intelligent construction. The M4 was priced at INR 1.5 Crores while the Z4 is INR 76 Lakhs.
Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 is also a discontinued model, and was powered by a twin turbo 4 cylinder engine that made 380 hp and 475 Nm of torque. Accelerating to a hundred in 4 seconds, this car is famed for being fun on a track because of its ability to use the immense power to drift around and burn rubber. The SLK is also an older model, and came with a 5.5 litre V8 that made 421 hp and 540 Nm of torque, this car was the top of the line AMG model for a while. The SLK was sold for INR 1.5 Crores while the CLA 45 AMG was priced at INR 90 Lakhs.
The motorcade, consisting of older but still very potent and powerful vehicles made a scenic trip to Jaipur.
