Cartist is elated to share that our annual Cartist Yatra 2018-19 is planned this year on the theme of “UNITY”. The Yatra would travel across 21 cities covering 8100 kms for 80 days bringing 1000 artists from all walks of life at a platform connecting millions and touching billions of hearts. Cartist will host 10 city events with a series of interactive sessions on art, automobile, design, heritage, and culture to be held at the venue. The Cartist Yatra 2018-19 unites art forms, art, and automobile, artists, people, values, and heritage. It emerges as a uniting force for those who love our land and take pride in our heritage. It rejuvenates the values and beliefs of the viewers and artists. Moreover, the Yatra ingrained the solitude of various art forms into a single form of innovative creation called ‘Art On Wheels’.
Joy of Giving – Cartist is requesting prominent people of the society to come forward and contribute towards giving their vehicle as a mark of celebration to unite together and build something unique for Indian Automobile Art world. Cartist will paint these vehicles free of cost, plan it will travel this year with 10 vehicles with different themes to reflect the diversity of India in UNITY. Sensing the response of people Cartist offer to paint 5 car in each city where the yatra will go, it will be done on first come first basis.
We’re excited to share that Cartist Yatra is receiving tremendous support and would like to state some of the prominent associations thus far-
Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy- Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy will support Cartist Yatra by providing their exhibition bus to Cartist, which will travel along with yatra, its a state of the art bus which is specially designed for outdoor exhibition and to promote art in public spaces. Cartist will design the bus artistically depicting Rajasthan Arts and Culture from outside and will promote artworks of Rajasthan artist in different cities.
Heritage Transport Museum – India’s first Transport Museum situated at Tauru near Manesar Gurgaon, Tarun Thakral Founder, and Managing Trustee has extended their support of the museum and also giving his car in support of Cartist Yatra.
Vintage and Classic Clubs – Cartist has received confirmation of various clubs to support the yatra when it would be in their city, with parking vintage and classic car at the venue when yatra would be in their respective state.
Deepa Malik (Padma Shri Awardee; Athlete (Paraplegic); Rio Paralympic Games Silver Medalist; Arjuna Award Winner) – India’s first and only Para-Medics Olympic Medalist has lent her support by offering her personal Automobile to be painted and part of the Cartist Yatra. The Car provided to Cartist is extremely special for her as she drove to Delhi to train for PARA sports and got her registration and driving license in Maharashtra on that car. Its the same car that takes Deepa Malik to various stadiums and gyms for the past 9 years and has helped her win 21 international medals for India. It is indeed a proud moment for Cartist to receive support from Deepa Malik, an inspiration for billions who battled all odds and emerged as a winner.
