Nowadays, new versions are the rage in the automobile market.  Many companies are either launching all-new versions or modifying many of the older ones.  And in that context, if you belong to a joint family of more than six people but you don’t want to keep adjusting while traveling either!  No more to worry as Kia has something for you with the all-new 2021 Sorento!

The Kia Sorento has always been an effective weapon in the South Korean brand’s arsenal.  A solid, large SUV with room for the joint family, all connected with decent pulling power and a flexible and easy drive.  Therefore, this new year, 2021, Kia is coming up with the Sorento latest model – a plug-in hybrid with 265HP, which has all the details about the Sorento PHEV!

The new Sorento will also be bestowed with a plug-in hybrid, where Kia announced at the launch. The surprise is that the amplified gasoline engine takes the position of the most compelling variant of the SUV.  With a power output of 265 hp and 350 Nm, the plug-in hybrid simply transmits the diesel engine (202 hp) and full hybrid (230 hp).  A 1.6-liter turbo engine with 180 hp and 265 Nm and a 91 hp electric motor that produces the greatest torque of 304 Nm is responsible for this modification.

In the Sorento plug-in hybrid, the power is transmitted to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic.  A battery with a capacity of 13.8 kWh serves as a power storage device.  Unfortunately, Kia currently does not mention the performance or key data such as electric range or battery charging time.

Talking about the exterior of this latest model, the Sorento can only be identified as a plug-in hybrid at a secondary glance.  Only the charging connection on the driver side and symbols with the label “eco plug-in” recognize it as such.  In addition, there are new diagrams and graphics in the digital cockpit that display the battery charge status.  For instance, the infotainment in the Sorento plug-in hybrid, that also displays nearby charging stations.

Meanwhile, electrification also does not change the trunk volume.  This is Because all the elements are placed on the car floor, the five-seater Sorento still fits 898 liters, as compared to the seven-seater.  The trunk holds 175 liters (each up to the lower edge).  With the absolute combustion engine, there are 910 and 187 liters, i.e. marginally more.

Therefore, this means it has ample space for up to seven riders along with giving the largest luggage capacities for up to 809 liters depending on specification.  And, at the very least, it can easily contain five members of your family along with the stuff required for a family day out, with a notable amount of luggage.

That was the recipe of the old Sorento, and now the new Kia has added some extra flavors in the dish to not only stay accurate to its roots but enhance the breed, as well.  It is worth remarking this new Sorento has not experienced the surgeon’s knife.  Instead, there is fresh element galore and a host of add-ons to further lifts Kia’s large-SUV contribution.

Thus, this new Kia Sorento has advanced add ons on what was already an outstanding vehicle.  Measurably larger from inside, and with a level of refinement, the new Sorento remains a smart-money choice in the segment.  Don’t you think?
