BMW India Foundation, registered as a non-profit company, that has been established to plan, execute and manage all BMW India Private Limited, BMW India Financial Services Private Limited and BMW India Leasing Private Limited corporate citizenship ventures. In order to raise greater awareness and support the initiatives through diverse collaborations and partnerships, the foundation will go beyond current programs.

Programs successfully initiated by the Foundation have already benefited thousands of people from underprivileged communities.”

The aim of the BMW India Foundation is to create a world where everyone knows that they have the potential to pursue. Its goal is to serve as a catalyst for allowing people to reimagine a better world, inspiring and enriching them. The foundation works ardently in its goal of encouraging, inspiring and leading initiatives that have a positive impact on individuals and communities.

Particular attention is given to scalability and long-term impact of each program.”

With employees of BMW Group India and BMW India Financial Services, the Foundation has formed a ‘Make a Difference’ team.  This group encourages the involvement of employees in CSR activities and handles social projects such as drives for tree plantation and camps for blood donation.

Both corporate citizenship ventures and spends of BMW India Private Limited, BMW India Financial Services Private Limited and BMW India Leasing Private Limited are the responsibility of the BMW India Foundation. The present initiatives are rooted in skill development, road safety, development of community, and health & hygiene.

In collaboration with Magic Bus, BMW India Foundation has started a skill development program that offers youth livelihood opportunities. The initiative focuses on the recruitment of disadvantaged young people and encourages them by heading towards sustainable employment or job-based training to meet their personal and professional objectives. The initiative has had a positive effect on the lives of more than 7,000 young people since its inception.

In collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, the Community Development Project of the BMW India Foundation aims to resolve one of the most basic human needs: decent living space. The aim of the Green Housing Project is to lift people out of poverty, a major component of which is living space. 58 houses have been built till date, for marginalised persons, primarily tribal.

The BMW Group strongly claims that it is not enough to concentrate only on passive and active driver safety, but to encourage road safety in society as well. In an interactive way that excites the young generation, the ‘Be Safe, Be Smart’ campaign reaches out to schools and raises information of road safety.

In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the BMW India Foundation has donated INR 3 crore. An isolation ward and PCR laboratory has been developed for patients at the Government General Hospital in Chengalpattu, near Chennai Plant. Gurugram health department was given critical care equipment and diagnostic facilities as well.
