The most famous and prestigious drag race in the world, the 66th annual National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, as of now holds one of the greatest moments of history.
Jack Beckman drove his rapid devil Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat through the eliminations ladder, having the seventh-seed position. His crew’s and Beckman’s hard efforts blessed them with a chance to advance to a fourth and final round appearance in six events this year. The veteran fast driver started his run through the way with a solid 3.909-second elapsed time to defeat Cruz Pedregon. Beckman rapids his racing machine next to J.R. Todd then he took it straight down the track for a 3.908-second winning effort to beat his opponent in the final elimination round. With just five races left on the 2020 calendar, the winning machine Beckman topped the NHRA Funny Car world championship leader board. With the fans named “the Big Go”, this is Beckman’s second victory of this year, with a second national event title at the flagship historic race, he also earned the same title in 2015.
“The crew chiefs made great decisions and the crew guys found a couple anomalies in the pants and jumped right on it. Nobody panicked and we made this car go down the track all four times today. We learned this trophy. We are back in the Funny Car points lead. That’s for final rounds this year. It has been a crazy 2020, but I’m thinking we can get a couple more of these with our Dodge Charger.” said Beckman.
Beckman stands as one of the three drivers of which contend for win in final-round., the second driver was Pilot Leah Pruett, with its new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
Pruett’s rapid reaction time of 0.053-second gave her the opportunity to turn on the winning lights. She also faced Shawn Langdon for the fist time, but she defeats him with her amazing efforts and because of that she achieved second place in the Top Fuel Championship standings. She was also on sixth position for this year’s opening round of FSS eliminations.
“This Big Go did not disappoint on the intensity meter from needing to make a good lap in Q4 just to make the show to throwing down a .70 in the first round against Terry (McMillen) who brought a .72. Those are the conditions we love to flourish in,” said Pruett.
Five national events are now remaining in 2020 NHRA.
