To increase the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated RAISE 2020, a Mega Virtual Summit on AI. RAISE 2020 is a global meeting of minds which encourage the exchange of ideas and chart a course for using AI for social transformation. RAISE also include empowerment in areas like Healthcare, Agriculture, Education and Smart Mobility, etc.


The PM was delighted with the organizers for organizing the event and had praised them encouraging discussion on AI. As per Modi Technology has transformed our workplaces and has improved connectivity. The PM also hoped the merger between social responsibility and AI would enrich AI with a human touch. Modi is confident about the teamwork of AI and Humans, he is very much sure that our country will excel in the digital world, bringing transparency along with service delivery. The Government is planning for dedicating the National Programme on Artificial Intelligence which will solve the problems of the society. Prime Minister Modi has envisioned a big role for AI, according to him, AI in the agriculture sector can create next-generation urban infrastructure. AI can address urban problems like reducing traffic jams, enhancing sewage systems and laying energy grids, making disaster management systems stronger, etc.


According to PM Modi India is vitally using technology and stressed how the world’s largest unique identity system – Aadhaar along with the world’s most innovative digital payments system – UPI have been providing access to digital services, including financial services, like Direct Cash Transfers to the poor, etc. It is the use of technology that how during the time of COVID, it has enabled in reaching out to people with help, at the earliest and in the most efficient manner.

The PM wished our country to become a global hotspot for Artificial Intelligence with a good number of Indians would start working on this in the times to come. As per PM Modi, the approach towards this aim is powered by important principles of Teamwork, Trust, Collaboration, Responsibility and Inclusivity.


The PM said that India is using technology in the field of education. He informed that recently our country adopted the National Education Policy 2020. The policy focuses on technology-based learning and skilling as an important part of education. The PM promises of adding E-courses to be developed in various regional languages and dialects. This whole work will benefit from Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities of AI platforms. According to PM Modi, more than 11,000 students from schools completed the basic course under the ‘Responsible AI for Youth’ program launched in April 2020. The students are very well in building their AI projects. The National Educational Technology Forum will make an e-Education unit and it will improve the digital infrastructure, digital content along with its capacity. Modi requested the participants at RAISE 2020 to exchange ideas and chart a common course for the adoption of Artificial Intelligence. He wished that action roadmap for AI would help in transforming the lives and livelihoods of people across the globe.
