The ACJ TwoTwenty Commercial Jet has been launched by Airbus Corporate Jets, establishing a brand new “The Xtra Large Bizjet” market segment. This offer provides a versatile cabin catalogue for the first time, covering the demands of the categories of heavy and long-range business jets.
“We are proud to extend the ACJ product Family with the launch of the ACJ TwoTwenty. The aircraft combines intercontinental range, unmatched personal space and comfort for all passengers. This latest technology platform offers unbeatable economics and unrivalled reliability,” said Benoit Defforge, President ACJ. “Based on its compelling market appeal, we see promising demand for this aircraft in the growing business jet market.”
The ACJ TwoTwenty will provide three times more cabin space while sharing the same parking space and being able to take off from the same airports as rival business jets, although with a third lower operating expenses, benefiting from the great performance of the new A220 series of Airbus. The A220 family is the cleanest, quietest and most environmentally friendly aircraft in its segment, with a 50 % lower noise footprint in comparison to prior generation aircraft and up to 25% lower fuel burning capacity.
Following its launch, Airbus Corporate Jets even won the first orders for the ACJ Two Twenty, totalling six aircraft. Although an order for two aircraft was announced by Comlux, four more jets were ordered by unidentified customers.
“We are proud to be the launch customer of the Airbus’ newest family member, the ACJ TwoTwenty and the selected partner to outfit the cabin in our completion center in Indianapolis. We have worked jointly with ACJ and shared our long experience in operating and completing all types of aircraft, to allow the new Bizjet to offer more comfort and the latest cabin innovations available in the industry,” said Richard Gaona, Executive Chairman & CEO Comlux. “Thanks to the unique combination of intercontinental range, comfort, extra space and second-to-none economics, we are convinced the aircraft will be a winner in the business aviation market.”
Based on Airbus’ A220-100, the ACJ TwoTwenty is a clean-sheet concept aircraft with innovative materials and state-of-the-art technologies. The cabin provides two times greater connectivity than its rivals, a cabin-wide Wi-Fi system, and new technologies such as electro-chromatic windows and LED lighting systems.
Allowing the aircraft to travel up to 5,650 nm/10,500 km (over 12 flight hours), the ACJ TwoTwenty would have an expanded range, linking pairs of cities such as London and Los Angeles, Moscow and Jakarta, Tokyo and Dubai, as well as Beijing and Melbourne, drawing benefit from the complete A220 Programme.
The ACJ TwoTwenty provides curated interior arrangements and handcrafted furnishings with exceptional personal space of 73m2/785 ft2 of floor space spread over six large VIP living areas. Thanks to its cabin flexibility and choices that meet their needs and preferences, the cabin will encourage up to 18 passengers to work, share, dine and relax at their discretion-all under the tagline “Reimagine your place in the sky …”
Airbus Corporate Jets is bringing all its cabin design skills into this latest aircraft, backed by the experience of having already delivered approximately 90 cabin turnkey solutions to the most demanding customers worldwide for many decades.
