The Acura MDX Prototype has already assumed the title of ‘most premium, performance-focused and technologically sophisticated SUV in Acura History’ before its sale has even started. The MDX is the fourth generation in a line of leading vehicles ever since the first generation was launched 20 years ago. Being the latest in its family, the MDX will come with a host of new Acura innovations, including its pioneering double wishbone front suspension and for the first execution of equipping an Acura SUV with a Type S high performance moniker. Designed to have an added dynamic and muscular finish, it has a matte exterior in Liquid Carbon and Performance Red. It also displays the company’s new styling with a 3D Diamond Pentagon grille which has four-element JewelEye LED headlights and Chicane LED daytime running lights. Acura also lengthened MDX Prototype’s wheelbase by almost 3 inches, giving a better ride experience and roomy seating space in all rows. Additionally, its interior has also been transformed for a more sophisticated and premium-feeling cabin space.
The seating and interior trims have been fashioned with top class quality material like polished aluminium and Milano leather. No detail has been missed in beautifying the vehicle as a whole; therefore, the steering has also been completed with French stitching. For the passengers, it offers Acura sport seats which have been specifically sculpted for maximum efficiency and aesthetic appeal with high-contrast stitching and piping. Its panoramic moonroof allows an airy feel and constant flow of natural light in the whole car. The cabin can be lit up in 27 lighting schemes according to different driving modes and locations. Presenting a number of new Acura innovations, some of its most notable qualities are: Precision Cockpit™- to replace physical gauges; True Touchpad Interface- 12.3 inch HD center display with absolute positioning and new CPU; “Signature Edition” ELS STUDIO 3D- concert quality audio with 1000W power, 22 isolated channels and 25 speakers.
MDX’s sound system is also its most advanced audio scheme Acura has ever presented. Its top notch safety system the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) Body Structure and AcuraWatch collectively provide collision protection and driving assistance for reduced risks. All MDX models will also support Acura’s new front passenger airbags. This fourth gen vehicle offers dynamic handling paired with added driving comfort and cabin ambience. It offers Type S-level performance with all safety innovations in place as a risk preventive option. Providing safe handling in all weather conditions, the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) is also a torque vectoring technology. Allowing customizations as per the drivers tastes, the Intelligent Dynamics System (IDS) also handles customizations like ride, steering, suspension in addition to its pre-set modes. Working on two types of engines, a standard 3.5 litre V6 and a Type S-exclusive 3.0 litre turbocharged V6 the MDX is set to be a powerful vehicle. Witnessing MDX success even before its launch, it’s obvious that it will follow its predecessors in becoming a best-selling model.
