The Pinnacle of British race engineering, the Supersports is heavy but blisteringly fast and handles better than a lot of other sports cars.

Looking for a car with a budget of INR 80 Lakhs and want something fast and flamboyant? You can get a spanking new Mercedes  C-43 AMG or a BMW Z4 both of which are powerful vehicles, dynamic driving character, filled up to the brim with race technologies amassed by the automakers and offer almost everything one can demand at this price point, even the Jeep Wrangler with its unmatched off-road capabilities if you’re up for it. Or you may look a bit further and find a magnificent Bentley Continental GT Supersports currently residing in Auto Best Emperio’s garage in Delhi for the same price tag and a world of difference in performance and style.

The Bentley Continental GT Supersports is a special car, powered by a 6 litre W12 engine which makes 621 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, this car was the pinnacle of Bentley’s powerhouse when it was launched. What makes this car even more special is that it can run on petrol as well as BioEthanol and was hailed as a game changer in reducing the use of fossil fuels. The W12 can accelerate the car to a hundred in 3.7 seconds and to 160 kmph in 8.9 seconds, top speed clocked at 329 it was also the fastest Bentley and it weighs a whopping 2.2 tons!

The Supersports is a hardcore track vehicle and uses a 6-speed automatic gearbox which comes with a ‘Quickshit’ feature that halves the shift times and delivers a more natural acceleration and better track performance with double downshifts. The car may be heavy but the British engineers fit a Torsen centraal differential with a 40:60 front to rear torque split which makes it unbelievably agile as countless drivers have claimed over the years. Continuous Damping Control, Bosch Electronic Stability Programme, Carbon fibre Reinforced Silicon Carbide Ceramic discs which were the largest brakes on any production car in 2009, and a weight reduction of 110 kilograms from the standard car makes this Supersports a true supercar heavyweight.

The car on sale is a 2010 model and has a Grey exterior and red contrast interior color scheme. The cabin is plush and made with the signature Bentley taste in Leather and Alcantara, the front seats are heated, the audio system is from Naim- a high-end British brand. Kept in perfect condition by its owner it has been driven just 20,400 Kilometers and also comes with ride height control for the rough Indian roads. It is being retailed for INR 79 Lacs whereas it cost $270,000 in 2010-more than INR 5 Crores when it was new, whereas a new Continental GT with the W12 powertrain will push you back by 4 Crores today.
