A new journey is going to be initiated by India as they have been declared as the winner of the action-packed regional round of first-ever “GR Supra GT Cup Asia 2020”. Toyota Gazoo Racing’s (TGR) virtual automobile racing is a huge opportunity to create a bridge between the e-Sport fanatics and finding engaging avenues surrounding the brand. With a super thrilling experience, three racers from India namely Aditya Raghav, Abishek Dwaraknath, Tariq Rahman made it to the regional round scheduled later for this month.
“GR Supra GT Cup ASIA 2020” is a proud off-shoot of Toyota Gazoo, racing motorsport legacy strongly fired by the ultimate concept of passion and tolerance. The very recent cherished performance came when Toyota, behind the wheel of the Toyota Gazoo TS050 Hybrid, notched its third- consecutive win at the legendary race, 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the oldest active sports activity in endurance racing and is often mentioned as the “Grand Prix of Endurance and Efficiency”.
“GR Supra GT Cup Asia 2020” will happen with 15 top e-sport racers in Asia for it’s first ever e-Sport showdown. Top three contenders from each of the participating countries – India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines, will take part online to grab the top position in the first ever “GR Supra GT Cup Asia 2020” regional finals, and will be streamed on 25th October 2020 for all the sports fan to enjoy.
India debut in “GR Supra GT Cup Asia 2020” was well received by the enthusiastic with a huge fan base. The championship received almost 30,000 applications in which a total of 3400 qualified to the next level and 13 to the final.
On behalf of the three qualifiers from India, Aditya Raghav said, “The Toyota India GR Supra cup has been a great opportunity for India to bring out the best eSport racers. This gives us a chance to showcase our skills against the rest of the competition and I definitely feel like we have the pace and the consistency to take India to the top. The competition is definitely going to be a tough one and I will be bringing my best to the track. Looking forward to some great racing from the rest of the folks”.
Coming back to the “GR Supra GT Cup Asia 2020 [Regional Round]”, Vice President of Toyota Motor Asia Pacific, David Nordstrom, said, “The ‘GR Supra GT Cup Asia’ challenge is all about the power of passion, cars and limitless possibilities and we are excited to engage with the aspiring players in the region.
