The smallest sedan of Hyundai may be overshadowed by its siblings like the Verna, Creta and Venue but that does not mean that it lacks any of the features one may demand from a car in this segment.
Hyundai has been on a roll in India, introducing the new Creta this year which has been very successful while last years Venue has won many accolades and is considered to be the best car in the Sub-4-Metre-SUV segment but there is another car that the South Korean automaker launched this year but has not been into the limelight like it siblings. We are talking about the Aura, the smallest sedan in the stable and was launched in the beginning of 2020, but has rather been a subdued product for Hyundai despite its impressive feature list.
Let’s have a look at its features-
1. Bold Design.
The Aura has Hyundai’s signature sporty yet fluidic design language, with the mesh grille and the swept-back headlamps which are blacked out. The Turbo version also gets a blacked out grille, the rear tail lamps are sharp and swept, the LED Daytime Running lights are on the two edges of the front grille and give the car a very distinct design, similar to the Grand i10 Nios on which the car is based.
2. Stylish Interiors.
The cabin of the car is a very pleasant one, it has a combined dashboard and instrument panel cover in high-quality plastic while there are pattern amber colored panels on the dash. There is a 20.25 centimeter infotainment screen which comes with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, while the Glove box is cooled which is useful for hot Indian summer days. One of the important features here is the 13.46 centimeter instrument panel, which is combined with an analog rev counter which makes it modern as well as contemporary and is unique in the segment.
3. Bi-Fuel engine with Petrol and CNG compatibility.
The car has 4 engine options, a 1 litre Turbo petrol with 100 PS power, 1.2 litre diesel with 75 PS power, a 1.2 litre Kappa petrol with 83 PS power and a 1.2 litre bi-fuel which can run on both CNG and petrol which makes 69 PS of power. This versatility in the engines is unparalleled, especially the BI-Fuel engine which is unique and makes it a very eco-friendly and economical option to use which is not available in any other car of the segment.
4. Advanced Safety
Hyundai has paid special attention to the safety of the car, using a high-strength body which makes it sturdy and capable of handling impacts. In addition, assists like ABS, airbags and high quality rear camera make it a very easy and safe car to use in India. There’s also a rear emergency signal, which flashes the rear light regularly to keep the vehicles coming from the rear aware of the car, a Rear view system which enables the driver to see the camera feed on screen without engaging reverse.
5. Unique features.
Automatic climate control which regulates the air-flow in both the front and rear, a wireless charging pad which is first-in-segment, steering mounted controls, cruise control and height adjustable driver seat are very important features of the car which pit it strongly against its competitors.
The Aura is loaded with features as is the norm with Hyundai, and features some very unique features for convenience, and with the versatile engine options it is a tough car to go against Honda Amaze, Swift Dzire, Tata Tigor and Ford Aspire. The Aura starts at INR 7 Lakhs and goes up to INR 11 Lakhs.
