Toyata is releasing the all new Yaris Cross and will be open for booking from 31st August 2020. As per Toyota, Yaris Cross will be “Revamping the Typical Concept of a Compact SUV”. This will be first compact  SUV from Toyota that opts the TNGA platform leading to an agile driving as well as comfort and convenience.  The model is fitted to be lean, well balanced and refined portions in a SUV to give the ultimate look of strength fit for an SUV.

Yaris Cross variants are available in both gasoline and electric. The price range is between 1,798,000 yen to 2,815,000 yen. It comes with a M15A-FKS (1.5-liter Dynamic Force Engine) and 4 variants in gasoline and 3 variants in electric. The gasoline model multiple terrain options as to make the off road and on slippery terrain performance robust. It is also fitted with a 4WD model for gasoline and E-Four model which makes the car suitable for both urban and leisure purposes.

The new Yaris Cross brings all the points of a traditional compact SUV like driving performance, safety and convenience without losing on being user friendly and  having ample luggage space. Yaris Cross becomes the first compact SUV utilize the 40/20/40 split rear seat and the 60/40 split adjustable deck board. It has various flex belt and hooks to satisfy individuals from across the board.

Toyota has called the exteriors of the Yaris Cross as “Energetic Smart” bring the concept of “Minimalistic  and Robust” to the forefront.  All the sides, front, side and back look beautifully balanced and have high functionality. There are 8 exterior color options with newly developed  Brass Gold Metallic and Silver Metallic. The interiors are designed to give off the look of sophistication and comfort with the central console being optimally placed between seating, steering and shift lever. It also uses Head Up Display (HUD) which minimizes the driver’s eye movements as per the “Eyes on the Road” concept.

The safety and security of the  new Yaris Cross comes with Toyota Safety Sense excluding X “B package”. It has collision assist for both detecting pedestrians  (day and night) and cyclist assist (day).  It also has Full Speed Range Rader Cruise Control with Lane Tracing  Assist for long journeys. Yaris Cross also has Adaptive High-beam System (AHS) and Road Sign Assist (RSA). Most importantly, for the first time for a SUV, it has Secondary Collision Brake whose function is to alleviates damage to the vehicle by automatically controlling the brakes and brake lights, and slowing down the vehicle to prevent a secondary collision.”

Yaris also possesses Blind Spot Monitor and with another first with S-VSC with lateral wind control, also a first for Toyota. This will be deployed when strong winds are detected and keeping the car in its respective lane. It also has parking assist as Toyota teammate and accessory power outlet (AC 100V/ 1500W) and all models come with Display Audio (DA) and DCM*8 as standard features and others can be joined with SmartDeviceLinkTM*9 (SDL) and Apple CarPlay®*10 / Android AutoTM*11. All in all, Yaris Cross brags of many firsts for a compact SUV.
