Bangkok – Suzuki Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. move forward full steam to the penetrate the Thai automotive market with the introduction of the NEW SUZUKI SWIFT, the latest premium sports ecocar that comes with the theme, “Power You Up: Top speed for the best drive”, the answer to every lifestyle of the new generation; with top tier performance and sports-like feel. The new model, however, will maintain fuel economy with the K12M engine, the DUALJET technology, and the HEARTECH platform. The vehicle will come with a complete sports car design inside and out, along with an upgraded passenger cabin in the premium sports car design and a full function entertainment system. Suzuki is set to roll out the new theme song for the model called, “Power You Up”, which is performed by “Oat” Pramote Patan and will reflect the idea of the NEW SUZUKI SWIFT perfectly. Pricing for the new model will start at 557,000 baht, where Suzuki is targeting to sell at least 12,000 units this year, aiming to become the leading manufacturer of ecocars in Thailand.

Minoru Amano, President of Suzuki Motor (Thailand) said although the new wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has hit Thailand and disrupted the automotive and other industries once again, Suzuki is still hopeful even though there’s an outbreak. Suzuki’s hope of becoming one of the stimulators for the Thai economy still stands and so the company has adjusted its strategies to serve its customers during such hard times, whether that be the improvement in the services sector all the way to quality productions to ensure the highest level of satisfactions among Suzuki’s drivers.

Suzuki’s success in the previous year is reflected through its growth, which was in a diverse trend with many companies, as Suzuki saw a 7 per cent growth, with a total reaching 25,528 units sold between January – December 2020 as planned. Amano stressed that the achievement came from Suzuki’s marketing and sales strategies which introduced various models suitable for every customer’s need from every segment, including the SUZUKI SWIFT, SUZUKI CELERIO, SUZUKI CIAZ, SUZUKI ERTIGA, SUZUKI CARRY, and the latest model the SUZUKI XL7. Suzuki went step further to take care of its customers by upgrading and advancing after sales services, as well as showrooms and service centers nationwide in every aspect. He noted that Suzuki will also expand its dealerships to cover 140 locations across Thailand by March 2022.

Fun in every movement with the K12M engine, DUALJET technology and HEARTECT platform.

The1.2-litre K12M 4-cylinder benzene engine generates 83 horsepower (PS) at 6,000 rounds/minute, torque of 108 newton meter at 4,400 rounds/minute. The DUALJET technology brings about improved combustion, as the system is located near the combustion chamber for a more precise and detailed oil pumping process. The DUALJET will also help lower the temperature in the cylinders and increase combustion capacity. With the perfect combustion chamber to the compression ratio of 11.5, which is higher than normal engines, this creates a fast and improved torque, which

in turn helps save more fuel. The DUALJET is further equipped with the EGR system that reduces the combustion chamber’s temperature and decreases heat in the exhaust pipes with water which circulated back into the intake manifold and lower abnormal combustion, creating the most efficient engine with fuel economization of 23 km./liter and the highest fuel level intake of E20.

For the safety aspect, the NEW SUZUKI SWIFT is installed with the HEARTECT platform, which is an exclusive technology from Suzuki. The model driving esthetic has also been elevated with its light structure constructed under the 3 philosophies of:

  1. Easy but strong shapes, where curves are reduced to increase structure’s strength. Engine’s location has been adjusted, along with the transmission and suspension systems, and fuel tank.
  2. Joints and connection points are much stronger. Main structure is focused on providing the highest safety through a perfect connection, which further reduce weight for the highest performance.
  3. Weight reduction is emphasized in every part of the vehicle not just in one spot.
