After achieving a record level of sales for commercial vehicles in 2019 with nearly 274,000 deliveries, the PEUGEOT brand is stepping up its offensive in these segments and adding a new stage to the overall electrification of the range.
In addition to the new PEUGEOT e-Expert, the PEUGEOT brand is proud to present the New PEUGEOT e-BOXER, a 100% Electric version as a perfect example of the power of choice in the utility range.
Building on its commercial success over the generations, with more than 1,250,000 vehicles produced and sold in 110 countries since its launch in 1994, the PEUGEOT Boxer is offering a new range of electrically powered vans, the PEUGEOT e-BOXER has :
- 2 levels of autonomy reaching up to 340 km in the WLTP approval cycle (in the process of being approved),
- 2 battery capacities (37 kWh and 70 kWh),
- 4 lengths and 3 heights,
- a payload up to 1890 kg (depending on version),
- a loading volume identical to the internal combustion version, up to 17 m³.
Without compromising on any useful services, modularity or specific conversions for our professional customers, the new PEUGEOT e-BOXER also ensures unrestricted access to city centres.
All the original qualities of the PEUGEOT Boxer, without compromise and now with zero emissions.
This market segment represents more than 550,000 vehicles per year in Europe, with the PEUGEOT BOXER increasing its market share every year. It should be noted that production for the current version of the PEUGEOT Boxer, which was launched in 2014, exceeds 400,000 vehicles.
Recently upgraded to Euro6 standards with a range adapted to the specific uses of professionals, the PEUGEOT BOXER now exists in a 100 % electric version and has become the PEUGEOT e-BOXER. Given that nearly 80 % of drivers of commercial vehicles drive less than 200 km per day on average, an electric version of the PEUGEOT Boxer is an obvious choice. This context is reinforced by increasingly restricted access to city centres, some of which only allow access for 100% electric vehicles. Company has kept all the advantages of the PEUGEOT Boxer while emitting zero emissions.
The new PEUGEOT e-BOXER is uncompromising in terms of loading capacity since the batteries have been installed under the floor. True to the ideal of power of choice, it offers a wide range of shapes to suit every use and every job.
Based on 3 wheelbases (3 m, 3.45 m and 4.04 m), the panel van versions come in 4 lengths (L1, L2, L3 and L4) and 3 heights (H1, H2 and H3), for a total of 5 different shapes ranging from 8 to 17 m³ for the loading capacity and with a payload of up to 1890 kg (depending on version).
The new PEUGEOT e-BOXER offers a 100 % electric engine with a maximum power of 90 kW (122 hp) and a maximum torque of 260 Nm available from the start for immediate readiness, without any vibration, noise, gear shifting, odour and, of course, CO2 emissions.
The drive train is equipped with an energy recovery mechanism, which is triggered both when the accelerator pedal is released and during braking. The maximum speed is limited to 110 km/h (and 90 km/h for the 4-tonne versions).
The new PEUGEOT e-BOXER combines compact external dimensions with maximum loading capacity, with the batteries being located under the floor, without any impact on the loading volume. This configuration also ensures rigidity, ensuring the same driving pleasure as on internal combustion versions thanks to optimal weight distribution.
