After much waiting, BMW’s introductory model from the M segment finally made it to India in the form of 2020 BMW M2 Competition. The smallest in the M line-up, the 2020 M2 still packs a powerful punch with its high performance figures and trademark BMW ride quality. An M2 model has recently been put on sale for INR 80 lakhs by Lifestyle Automobiles of Kolkata, let’s discuss its specs and see if it could be a worthy buy.
The up-for-grabs 2020 M2 Competition comes in a classic Black exterior, accentuating BMW’s imposing body style and sporty performance. The condition is great and looks brand new, considering the fact that it has covered a small distance of only 215 km. This M2 comes with all the standard BMW equipment and features a rear wheel drivetrain. The interior complements and matches the black exterior, with seat upholstery and cabin styling finished in black. Its powertrain consists of an automatic transmission and a 3.0 litre V6 petrol run engine. The vehicle also comes with additional benefits that include road tax covered up to July, 2025, an extended warranty and PPF as well.
Customers can find a brand new 2020 M2 Competition for a price of approximately INR 84.22 lakhs in the showrooms. However, it is a known fact that the on-road price of vehicles increases by a lot when taxes, insurance and registration amounts are added to it. The case is no different here, if you’re considering buying a brand new M2, you can expect to pay somewhere in the INR 97.26 lakh ballpark. The four-seater runs on a 2979 cc 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged engine which gives an impressive 404bhp and 550Nm output, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. The vehicle hits a top speed mark of 250 km/h.
Bearing in mind that the M2 for sale offers all the same amenities and performance levels as a new M2, it would be a wise choice to purchase the 80 lakh model (also comes with covered road tax and PPF) and save almost 17 lakhs from the transaction. On the other hand, if you want more options in the INR 80 lakh price range- there are major brands that offer brand new models for this much. Some alternatives to consider: New Mercedes-AMG C43 and AMG GLC 43, BMW X4, Porsche Macan, Range Rover Evoque or Jaguar F-Pace.
