The V-Cross is powered by a 2.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 134 hp and 320 Nm of torque to take on the toughest road conditions and terrain.

The rich configuration of double overhead camshafts and 4 valves per cylinder produces high combustion efficiency achieving high power and good fuel efficiency.

An intercooler with thermo-cooling capacity is located at the front of the engine. Compression by the turbocharger causes the intake air to heat up, which is therefore pushed through an intercooler to reduce the temperature and increase the air density. This enhances the combustion efficiency of the engine, improves fuel efficiency, produces high power and reduces CO2 emissions.

A steel timing chain, with proven reliability compared to a standard timing belt, is used for long-lasting durability.

ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross is equipped with an independent, double wishbone system at the front. This type, often seen doing duty in F1 machines and luxury sedans, can control any change in the camber angle when the tyre moves up and down. Enabling the tyres to maintain uniform grip on the road and a stable feel at all times.

ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross features longer, flatter rear springs and gas shock absorbers to work in unison with the front suspension design. The rear springs are located above the rear axle (over slung) for improved ground clearance that also helps during off-road driving.

The ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross is mounted on a ladder frame chassis, which is much stronger than a light monocoque body. Using actual vehicle experiments and computer analysis, ISUZU engineers raised the bar higher and added impact absorption capabilities to protect occupants and pedestrians in the event of a collision.
