This Orange 1971 Chevrolet Suburban brings big-block V-8 sport utility together with custom style. The sixth-generation paralleled the debut of the all-new 1967 C10 truck lineup and shared its rugged yet compliant platform and design. Room for nine passengers and heavy hauling towing ability made the big wagon a popular choice for construction crews and casual campers alike, and the Suburban carries on the tradition today.
The three-door body wears contrasting blue graphics topped with hand-laid purple pinstripes. Upgraded LED headlights light the way forward, and the original 1971 factory eggcrate grille was shelved in favor of a T-Rex billet aluminum insert topped with a Chevrolet Bowtie. Factory-issue exterior equipment and chrome bumpers pull original good looks together with street machine flash. Body color continues into the engine bay, and the big V-8 is dressed for success with a traditional finned air cleaner and valve cover combination accessorized with a full complement of mirror polished and chrome-plated parts. An Edlebrock 4-barrel carburetor and high-rise intake manifold work with ceramic-coated, equal-length headers and dual exhaust for maximum horsepower extraction, and the mighty mill is backed up by an automatic transmission. Performance merges with comfort in the custom-upholstered black and orange interior. Power-operated bucket seats with Camaro-style orange houndstooth inserts and matching door panels add extra sport to utility, and a tilt column with billet aluminum steering wheel sits over a factory gauge panel with tachometer. Adjustable dash vents deliver heat and air-conditioned climate control, and a Sony AM/FM stereo is ready for entertainment.
Most of us have a Suburban travel adventure story or two to tell, and this orange road hauler waits for its next owner to create an all-new narrative on chrome-plated 18-inch Driv alloy wheels and Michelin Latitude radial tires.
