In the parade hosted by Subaru, a wholly owned subsidiary of Subaru Corporation of Japan, known as Subaru Tecnica International (STI) or more commonly called the Subiefest has set a Guinness World Record. This is an annual assembly for the Subaru fanatics to celebrate their passion and love for the Subaru brand and cars and come together in the US.
Subaru has always been at the forefront of doing good for the community that they serve and with their vision of to show love and respect to everyone or Subaru Love Promise, it wants to support the communities and customers across US. In their latest endeavor, through their annual fest, Subaru decided to change the way this gathering is held and include a parade to the list of activities that will take place and break some records while at it.
On 4th of October 2020, during the Subiefest, about 1751 Subaru Vehicles gathered together to form a parade spanning over 2 miles in length, breaking the previous record with triple its strength. The previous record for the largest parade of Subaru cars was 549 vehicles in the year 2015. 5 years later, this record has been broken for a worthy cause to help families that were affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
This time round, the proceeds of the ticket sales of the Subiefest will be going to Feeding America. Given the reasoning behind the registrations sky rocketed with participation registration giving way to 241,800 meals. Subaru has also announced that they will match the number of meals provided by the Subaru fans and which meant that approximately 500,000 meals will be donated through Feeding America to two local food banks- Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Second Harvest Orange County.
On this charitable occasion, Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America, said, “In these trying times we all search for stability in our daily lives, we hope that through this donation to Feeding America, we can provide the comfort and stability of a meal for people who struggle with hunger in America. We must all stay safe but remember to help others where we can.”
This is the only starting for the Subaru as they have decided to forge a vital partnership with Feeding America to donate more than 50 million meals to the communities that have been impacted by Covid-19. Feeding America is one of the biggest US based hunger relief organization that has over 200- member food banks in their network and along with the automaker will provide assistance to the people fit by the pandemic and bring much needed relief to them during these tiring times.
