The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has released a flyover in Madhya Pradesh at Morena town. The 108 crore flyover on National Highway number 3 is dedicated to the Nation, as made clear by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers welfare, Rural development and Panchayati raj and Food Processing Industries Narendra Singh Tomar’s keynote at the inauguration event.
The flyover which connects Gwalior to Dholpur in Rajasthan has been completed within its scheduled period of 18 months, with a length of 1.420 kilometers, with a 300m retaining wall approach on the Dholpur side and a 340m retaining wall approach towards Gwalior. The flyover has been designed with practicality in mind with service roads on both sides. The flyover is also meant to decongest the centre of Morena town by allowing the heaviest traffic to pass smoothly.
The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan, along with Union Ministers Thawar Chand Gehlot, Faggan Singh Kulaste, MoS RTH Retd. Gen V K Singh and other ministers and government officials. Narendra Singh Tomar lauded the efforts of Road transport and Highways minister Nitin Gadkari for smooth completion of the project without any hiccups during sanctioning or during construction, adding that the new road will help greatly in reducing the traffic in the area.
CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan marked the moment as historic and complimented the centre’s effort in development projects undertaken throughout the country, while talking about the various ongoing projects in the district alone and urged the residents of the district to enjoy and include themselves in the development projects. While the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Retd. General V K Singh talked about the focus of the government in development statewide and nationwide in public facilitation. The road on which the flyover has been built is one of the key roads in the area in terms of traffic and vitality. The road also has certain points which were prone to accidents which will now be avoided successfully.
